Sponsored nameplates were introduced in 2025 to help provide financial backing which allows me to allocate time, effort, and external resources to chip away at the roadmap.
Don’t just take my word for it
The directory doesn’t utilize any sort of tracking. I have no clue how many visitors come by each month. All I have is anecdotal data from foundries that have let me know that the directory consistently shows up in their referral reports, and other designers expressing their love for the platform.

Limitations & requirements
So what’s the fine print? In short, sponsorships are limited to three months within a twelve month window, all featured fonts are subject to approval, and nameplates are served using subset web fonts.
Nameplate sponsorships are limited to a max of three months within a twelve month window. This ensures it can’t be monopolized and opens up sponsorship opportunities for more foundries.
Nameplate sponsorships are only available to foundries listed in the directory, however, if your foundry is not included you are welcome to submit it. All featured fonts are also subject to approval.
All nameplates are served using live web fonts that are subset. SVGs, images, etc. will not be accepted. This is to help keep the site accessible, and provide the best rendition of your font.

Pricing
Sponsorships are based on a no questions asked, pay-what-you-want tiered system. This is intended to make it affordable for small foundries, while opening up the opportunity for more affluent foundries to express their patronage.
Recommended for independent designers and small foundries.
Recommended for small to mid-size foundries.
Recommended for large or well established foundries.
Availability
Nameplates are available on a first come, first served basis. Each year I reserve a few months to give away nameplate placements to upcoming or under represented foundries, and might selfishly set one aside for myself.

Morning Type Sunrise Scholarship
Sponsorships not only help fund the maintenance and development of the directory, but will directly contribute to two scholarship efforts.
Upcoming
Each year I will be reserving at least one month to donate a nameplate placement to an upcoming coming or under represented foundry.
Future scholarship
Admittedly, I am still undecided on what exactly this will be. Whether or not I just contribute funding to an existing scholarship like the Malee Scholarship or start something new is still to be determined.
